Oubaai GC 9th June 2019: With his runner up finish in the 2019 Southern Cape Closed Championship, Meyer Potgieter also sealed victory in the tightly contested 2018/2019 Mid-Amateur Order of Merit. Meyer ended up beating Lukas Steyn (Plettenberg Bay CC) and Nicholas Mitchell (George GC) by a few points. Many congratulations Meyer, we are all very proud of you! Ivan Williams (George GC) is also the winner of the Southern Cape’s 2018/2019 Overall Order of Merit. Ivan had numerous top 5 finishes during the season that started last year July at the Oubaai Open. His victories came at the 2018 Simola Open, 2019 Heidelberg Open, Goose Valley Open and now the Southern Cape Closed Championship. Sunday 9th June 2019: George Golf Club’s club champion, Ivan Williams claimed yet another major victory with his win at the 2019 Southern Cape Closed Championship. Ivan had rounds of 69 + 73 (-2) in windy and warm conditions to win by one shot from Meyer Potgieter (also George Golf Club).
