Jordan Duminy claimed the 2019 Southern Cape Open title, his first National Order of Merit counting event, when he beat Christo Lamprecht Jnr in a playoff at Knysna Golf Club.  Both players finished on a superb -18 after 72 holes.  Great golf guys, and well done Jordan.

The inaugural Coastal Challenge Cup took place form 10 – 11 August at Kingswood Golf Estate.  Southern Cape’s “B-Teams” in Senior, Mid-Amateur and IPT competed against Western Province “B-Teams” in the same divisions.  The final overall results had Southern Cape on a combined 28 points, against Western Province’s 20 points.  Photo from left:  Billy Valentyn (SCGU Director of Golf) and Heinrich Lourens (Assistant – Director of Golf) with the winning trophy.

11 August:  The 2019 Coastal Challenge Cup had some fireworks in the Mid-Amateur Division with Southern Cape’s Mid-Amateur “B-side” beating Western Province’s Mid-Amateur “B-side “12 – 4 over the two day Foursomes, Better Ball and Singles Match Play format.  Southern Cape won the Singles Match Play 8 – 0!
