Sunday 14^th July 2019:  Some superb golf was played at the Oubaai Open with Christo Lamprecht Jnr (Pinnacle Point), Barend Botha (Oubaai) and Alex van Wyk (Fancourt) all finishing on -9 for this 36 hole Open.  Alex was eliminated after the 2^nd playoff hole, and after the 3^rd playoff hole darkness caught up with the players and it was decided that Christo and Barend will share the title.  Photo from left:  Billy Valentyn (SCGU Director of Golf), Barend Botha and Christo Lamprecht Jnr.

ST FRANCIS BAY, 28 June 2019 – Ben van Wyk got instant redemption with a two-shot triumph in the Nomads National Order of Merit Coastal at St Francis Links just days after faltering down the stretch while in contention in the Dimension Data Junior Open.  The reigning Nomads SA Boys U-19 Match Play champion posted the lowest junior score in the club’s history and equalled an amateur record that stood for 13 years when he fired a six-under-par 66 in the opening round on the Jack Nicklaus signature course.
